I was dreaming. Sitting there, I finally had peace, I could finally relax. But the dream was too good to last. I couldn't keep the peace alive. It was dying. I couldn't let it die. Or I would dream the horrible dream again...

I opened my eyes, letting a slit of light through, making me immediately squint. I wanted to go back to the good dream, away from my past. But the light and the pain racing through my side and my head jerked me back into reality, a place I most hated. "Sir, he's coming around. There's a jump in brain function!" The voice. A voice. Who was it? A name, a face, it was all so familiar. But I had no memory of it.

"Good. I'll notify J, Black and Valentine. Put him under again for a day or so..." J? Juli- The world was spinning again. I was being sucked into the vortex of my dreams. A single tear ran down my check before I was returned to a place that was no longer safe from my memories.

"What do you mean, he's alive?! No one could of survived that!! Not even Spike! He died, Jet! People don't come back from the dead!" Her wild black hair that was usually perfectly in place was swinging everywhere as she yelled into a hand held walk-talkie like phone.

"I know it sounds crazy, Faye, but you came back from the dead, didn't you?"

Faye huffed into the phone. "That's beside the point!! He was shot full of holes and had a huge sword wound! He died, Jet. I went to his funeral. Come to think of it, you did too! I-"

"Faye, shut the fuck up and listen to me!!!" Faye shut her month immediately. She knew better than to try his patience when it came to Spike. "The Syndicate did bury his body. The put it in cryogenic suspense and waited for 2 years and then revived him, along with Julia! Spike's alive, and we're going to get him out of there. I got a couple of friends in the Syndicate who are keeping a watch over him, and they're gonna tell me when he's completely healed and awake so we can get him outta there. I think we'll have to get Julia, too. So stop wasting money at the casino and get your ass over to the ship! "
