Chapter 1- What Are You Doing Here?!

Landon was in surgery, operating on a 20-year-old woman who had a brain tumour. He was trying hard to do his best, because he knew that this would make the make and break of his career as it was being filmed for the best doctors in America. If this was successful, he would be jetting off New York to do courses in the latest medical discoveries. He got the tumour out of the girl's head and it was about the size of a tennis ball. Everyone clapped and then the stitchers came in to stitch her up. He proceeded to the wash room, where he took off his theatre clothes and washed his hands. When he stepped out of the door, he was greeted by the parents of the girl.

"Is Felicity okay?" her mother, Joanne, asked frantically.

"Yes. We got the tumour out and now their stitching her up. It's just a case wether or not it was a successful operation," Landon said, his eyes glancing over to his mother. "I'll come and see you tomorrow. Bye."

"Bye," Felicity's parents said in union.

Landon proceeded over to his mother.

"Well done honey!" his mother said giving him a hug.

"Well, yes but I wanted to congratulate you in person. I also have some news."

"What?"

"Mr. Sullivan is having a family reunion and he would like you to come. He wants you to meet all the family."

"Alright. Where are you staying tonight?"

"Come on. You know I haven't dated since Jamie."

"You need to get into the swing of things. I know that you still love Jamie and she helped you achieve all this but it's been 6 years. Some men would go crazy if they didn't date for too long!"

"Well I'm not like them am I? I don't go to stripper clubs and drool over naked ladies."

"I'm not saying that. You just need to slowly get back into the swing of things."

"Look. Can we end this subject now? I've got an appointment with a man who's having radio therapy." Landon specialised in cancer and was on the verge of making a cure to leukaemia. He had also set up a charity, The Jamie Sullivan Leukaemia Trust. They helped people get treatment and make wishes come true for people with leukaemia. Like he did for Jamie.

"Okay," his mother said reluctantly.

"Here's the key for the apartment. I'll be home in about 2 hours. Bye," he said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye." His mother walked down the hallway and out of the double doors. He walked to his office and sat in the chair. The phone rang and when he picked it up, he heard the familiar voice of an old man…
