Angel

The sun began to set, the sky was swimming with all sorts of different colors, and, it seemed to be, that at that very moment, the sun was brightest, just before it disappeared behind the mountain. It was when the sun gave out its last rays when it happened. The boy she had been traveling with, all those months, gave to her, his biggest, most precious secret. Just before the sun disappeared behind the mountains, from the boys back, sprouted a pair, of shimmering, beautiful white wings. The girl eyes grew as the wings did, they were so beautiful against the setting sun, but it was not until they were against the dark nights sky that their true beauty was released. They, seemed, to be glowing, the nights stars twinkled, and a slight draft came upon them. The wind ruffled the feathers atop the wings, and a sing feather fell lose. The feather floated, slowly over to the girl, the girl stretched out her hands, and into them the feather fell. To the girls' surprise, it felt warm, even with the wind blowing its cold air. The feather warmed her up, ever so slightly, then, lifted from her hands, and followed the path of the wind.
The warmth she felt in the feather, she had felt it somewhere else, and then she remembered, when the boy she loved, had first touched her. He had run his hand along her cheek, and then through her hair, and then, with out warning, had brought his lips to hers. She looked at the boy standing before her, and realized, that he was the same boy. Her lips quivered as she felt tears coming, but he had sent her back to her own world, he wanted her to live a normal life. They could never be together, she had told herself this over and over again, but she never really let it sink in. Tears started to fall rapidly from her eyes as she outstretched her arms. The boys moved forward towards the girl, and embraced her tightly in his arms. They both stood there, just holding each other; there was no need for words at that time.
Then, finally, the girl spoke "Why are you here?" and the boy answered "I think I must be the most selfish person in the galaxy, I sent you home so you could live a normal life, free of dangerous things that could hurt you, but after you left, I found myself, sad, and unhappy, and, sometimes, I would even start to cry, and I found myself wishing that you would return to me, and then I saw a vision, it was of you, you were sitting all alone in an empty room, and the one thing about my vision that made me feel even more horrible, was the fact that you were crying" the girl lifted her head from the boys chest and looked him straight in the eyes, and found, that he too was crying "And then, as the vision disappeared, I cried out for you to return to me, and then there was a flash of bright light, and I was here" "And the wings, why didn't you tell me that you had wings, and why did you spread them the minute you saw me?" "It was a rush, when I saw you, you were so far away, I spread my wings so I could reach you as fast as I could" "I, I have one more question" "Then please ask" "Do you, do you promise to stay with me, forever?"
The boy smiled, and kneeled down, and placed a soft kiss on top of the girls' forehead and said, "You have my word". The girl smiled and placed her head once again against the boys' chest as he lifted off of the ground. Embracing each other, they both flew up into the heavens.
