SONNET FOR SIRIUS
I look out the window and stand mesmerised
At the rain that's been falling all day
Or maybe these droplets come from my own eyes
My vision is too blurred to say
Either way, I just want all this misery to end
I just want all this water to stop flowing
For it's washing away all the memories of my friend
And without them, I cannot keep going
But it hurts to remember I failed you that night
I just stood there, watching you die
Then you disappeared completely from sight
And I could not find tears to cry
But now that has changed and the tears freely run
Because I have realised death can't be undone
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I was very saddened by the sudden death of our beloved Sirius Black, as I'm sure pretty much all Harry Potter fans were. *sob* Now I know that his death is not news anymore, and I'm sure there's a huge collection of laments over his death already. But to introduce myself to the world of Harry Potter fanfiction, I thought I'd examine the feelings of those closest to Sirius following his untimely demise, through a collection of sonnets. I'm sure it's pretty obvious this is from Harry's POV, and I plan one more for him. Then I'm open to suggestions. Please review and tell me whether I should keep going. Greatly appreciated :)
