I wake up in his arms. There's just something about him that makes me smile when I awake in the morning.
It took us a while to get to where we are now. I still remember that day, the one that changed my life as I knew it.
It was the day that we were given the go-ahead. Well, we hadn't officially been given the go-ahead, but we had just defeated the Goa'uld. We had the right to celebrate.
And if that meant that I jumped up until my legs were around his waist and my arms around his neck, then so be it! We just kinda stood there for a few minutes; not caring that every one could see us. I remember him placing a soft kiss on my neck before setting me gently down on the floor to give me the real thing.
We'd had our first date that night.
It was so romantic. We went to this little Italian place on the upper end of town. We'd sat at a table for two, gazing into each other's eyes over the candlelight, sipping our wine. It's a night I'll never forget.
He had walked me to my door that night, and I'd given him a small peck on the cheek, allowing my lips to linger just a moment too long. As I entered the house, I watched as he strolled back to his truck. Just before he got in though, he raised his arms and shouted to the heavens "All is right with the world!" and with that, he had gotten in his truck and driven away. I smile at the memory.
We'd dated for about six months before we'd made love. We both knew that we had to get to know each other better first, this including more about our pasts and whatnot.
Jack is...amazing. I guess that's the only word to describe him. He has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. They just seem to look right down into your soul, to coin that phrase...
I love his hair too. It's gotten a smidgen grayer since we started dating, but nothing I can't live with.
I don't mind his bizarre sense of humor; I have the same kind. I love his smile; I love his body...
But I guess most importantly I love him.
I always get so emotional when I'm around him; he's what kept me going during our days at the SGC. If I ever needed something, he wouldn't hesitate to help me out.
He's just so caring, so loving...
And he's all mine.
As he stirs beside me, the gentle smile on my face grows. This is what I love most. Him waking up after I do simply because of what usually happens.
"Morning beautiful."
"Morning." I smile again. He's sporting one of his own.
"I love you Sam."
"I love you too Jack."
You know I would tell you what happens next, but that wouldn't be any fun now would it?
~fin~
Okay, so it's a bit on the short side, but you know what? I don't care! Actually I do care; I really care about what you think.
I would also like to dedicate this to NG who gave me the idea and the inspiration to finally write this story. Thanks!
