Author's Note: This could be about just about any couple, but I picked
Yukina and Kuwabara because you probably wouldn't expect Kuwabara to
propose to Yukina like this, and I don't know if she'd say yes. I
don't know if anyone's already done a poem like this, but this idea
hit me, and it hung in my head for three days, so here it is.
She Chose Me...?
Where we meant to be?
Such a pretty girl and me?
I looked at her,
and she looked at me.
The little box sat in my pocket,
Instead of a ring, I bought her a locket.
For there was no diamond, sapphire or ruby,
that could ever match her beauty.
Finally, the time had come,
for me to know if she was the one.
As I bent down onto one knee,
"Yukina," I asked,
"I love you... and,
I was just wondering...
Will... will you... (aw, just say it, Kuwabara!)
Will you marry me?"
Then I wondered,
what would she say?
Would she say yes,
or would she turn me away?
I dared to continue.
"I couldn't afford a sapphire,
that was as beautiful as your eyes,
because they shine with a fire
that never dies.
So I got you a locket,
it's got a little mirror inside,
to show the beauty
that you should never hide."
I stared up at her,
I wondered what she'd do.
My heart was hers.
Would my luck see me through?
"Oh!" She gasped,
with wonder in her eyes.
And then she smiled.
I prayed a problem wouldn't arise.
...and then I saw a
a single tear roll down her cheek.
If I wanted to,
I couldn't speak.
"Kuwabara, I love you..."
she paused.
Was she going to...?
"and..."
I held my breath.
Now I would know...
Was this a one-way relationship?
Yes...or no?
"If what you say is true...
...then of course I'll marry you!"
With such joy, my life suddenly overflowed,
I felt as though my heart would explode.
I did not deserve her,
yet she chose me.
A love like this,
I thought it was not meant to be.
There was nothing, right then,
that I feared,
I wouldn't have cared
if the world suddenly disappeared.
She chose me, and that was all that mattered to me.
Other Author's Note: (yes, a second one. Written by the same author, but
this is the OTHER author's note because I already have a first one. Make
sense? No? Oh well. Forget it then.) I have never done a poetry fanfiction
before, so please review because I suck at rhymes and this took me a lot
longer than it looks like it did. This also is really short for me. My
average fanfic is at least 2,000 words long, but this is what? a quarter of
that? (WOW! I actually used something that I learned in math class! Even
though it was first grade, that's okay. And, when in my life am I going to
need math knowledge above third grade level outside of school, especially
if I plan to be a movie critic.) STUPID WRITER'S BLOCK! (I am sooooooo glad
that that's over. My brain was starting to hurt, too.) PLEASE REVIEW!!!!!!!
FLAMES WILL BE USED TO BURN DOWN MY SCHOOL, (and I live with a homicidal
pyro and that hasn't happened yet) AND GOOD REVIEWERS WILL BE GIVEN PIZZA!
