King Alexander was walking through Darakes, as Joseph, his right hang
man, confronted him with a question. "King Alexander, your highness, what
are you doing with no guards by you side?" The king replied, "I shall no
longer have live such a secluded life, I need to be out with my people, for
I am a person also." Joseph being satisfied with this answer left the king
to be. The king continued from shop to shop, store to store, until he
heard a horrible and disturbing noise, as he looked up, he was the crowds
splitting like the waters. Through them came the High Bishop and General
as if they were being chased by headhunters. They saw the king and
screeched, "King Alexander!!!" As they approached, the king just continued
to stare at them. They reached him and with getting down of their horses,
spoke this, "King Alexander, we have been accused of a crime, of which we
did not commit. We fear for out lives, they are searching for us now, we
believe the punishment will be severe. We will surely be hung." "What
town are these people that are searching for you from?" "They are from
Avox." "Avox?" the king said with a questionable voice. "Yes King, Avox."
The king could not believe what he was hearing, Avox was always such a quiet town, with quiet people, why would they be hunting and trying to kill these men. What crime could they have committed that have these people in such an uproar? They king, bewildered by confusion, asked, "What exactly have you been accused of?" "They believe for some reason, that we are horse thieves. See, they have had horses being killed and stole, and when we appeared into town, they blamed us, obviously they had just had some trouble, then to see to strangers, they are very upset." They we so out of breath it made everything so hard to understand and comprehend. "We have been running from them for miles and miles." "Alright, send me a chariot, I shall return to the castle and meet with them, until then, go to your quarters and rest, I will send for you when I need you."
As the king entered the castle, he leaned to Joseph, "Send for the town-ruler of Avox, I must speak to him at once." "Yes, sire." The king walked down the stone floor of the castle, entered the room at which he should meet the ruler, and took a seat on the thrown. As the time passed, he began to wonder if the ruler was coming or not. About that time the door to the room opened and instated Joseph, "Sire, Bardai, ruler of Avox."
As the man entered, he seems furious with a temper that could scorch a burning coal.
