I had just watched episode 44 and read a few dozen fics when this came to mind. I was very upset that Naruto is always being treated badly because he's protecting those jerks by keeping the Nine-Tails Fox Demon in him.
Anyway, I wanted Naruto to have a better childhood, thus why this AU is born!
As a warning, this will contain Shonen-ai elements later on.

Part 1

It's cold...freezing...but he won't go back. He doesn't want to listen to everyone being happy and warm with their stupid families. Just because it's some holiday doesn't mean they have to keep him up all night having fun and singing and opening presents.
It's not fair.
He wants someone to give things to too, but everyone just laughed and made fun of him when he tried.
Tears prickle the child's blue eyes. He rubs harshly at them, reddening his already flushed cheeks further. The blond child doesn't know where he's going exactly, but currently he couldn't care less. He just wants to get away from everything and everyone who hurts him for a reason he can't comprehend.
It's getting harder for the child to move. Every part of his body is frozen and he can't feel anything anymore.
'Am I going to die?'
He doesn't really know what happens when you die, only that you don't come back. Ever. Dying won't be a problem. No one wants him back.
The child would yawn if he could move his mouth. He's so tired...
'I think I'll take a nap.'

His scent is weird. He smells human but also...
Sniff.
Sniff.
He smells like her Lord. But that's impossible! Yet...she recalls hearing the tale of a great Nine-tail that had been sealed inside a human cub. Could this boy being harboring her Lord?
She stills as the small bundle stirs in her warm arms. Bright blue eyes open in wonder. She gasps, rarely has she ever seen such beautiful eyes on a human during her long life. She could literally count the number of times with one claw.
"Who are you?" The small voice breaks her out of her reverie.
"I'm Yuki."
"Yuuki?"
"Yu-ki."
"Like that yuki?" he asks, pointing outside the den they're in.
"Yes, I was named after it."
"Oooh. What are you?" The woman's lips twitch up at the innocence as the boy stares at her large snow white fox ears and metallic copper-slit eyes.
"I'm a Youko," she answers again, sharp canines peeking out.
"Cool!" The boisterous response was surprising. Her Lord was always quiet and calculating, but this man-cub is...so very different.
'Is this how my Lord was as a cub?'
"And what is your name?"
"I'm Naruto!" He tilts his head as she starts laughing. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing, cubling, nothing." The child wouldn't understand that the one inside him was QUITE fond of the food.
Naruto squirms again. "I'm hungry."
"Then I'll just have to feed you."
She hides a frown as she sets the blond down on a fur blanket. He's too skinny and short from malnutrition. Lord or no, this is no way to treat a cub.
She'll just have to watch Naruto, her Lord, herself now won't she?

Yuki - though the first thing that comes to mind is 'snow' when it's heard, it also means 'going'.
