A/N: Just a short songfic from Shadow's p.o.v. after he and Sonic stop the A.R.K. And for the record, I do not own the Sonic characters, Alien Ant Farm, or their song "Movies."

At slow speed…
We all seem focused….
"CHAOS CONTROL!"
The A.R.K. vanishes in a flash of light and the Earth is saved.
But Sonic and I are thrown backwards, and the planet we just saved is pulling us in. The fall will easily destroy us.
In motion we seem…
Wrong, wrong…
Unless I act.
I look over at Super Sonic, a shining gold replacing his beautiful cerulean. He knows death awaits him, awaits us.
I know what I need to do.
In summer…
We can taste…
The rain…
"Sonic," my voice is calm, despite the impending doom. "I'm sorry."
His green eyes show his surprise and concern about my sudden compassion.
Two can play…
This game…
We both want power…
"You, you were the only one." I continue to speak even though my heart is being ripped asunder.
"The only one who understood. The only one like me."
In winter…
We can taste…
The pain…
"Yet instead of embracing you, and finding peace, I feared your rejection, and mocked you."
"All those years of sleeping, haunted by nightmares of her, how I couldn't save her."
"I knew only loneliness. You have so many friends who care about you."
"Maria was all I had…"
In our short years we come a long way…
To treat it bad and throw away…
I shut my eyes, forcing myself not to cry, to die with some dignity. But I am startled by a gentle pressure on my hand.
"You had me." His words grace my ears one last time.
And if we make a little space…
A science fiction showcase…
I turn towards him, blinking to see his face through the tears.
He is smiling at me, and I cannot help but smile too.
In our short film, a love disgrace…
Dream a scene to brighten face…
My fears abolished by his words and my time running out, I pull him close.
The flames of re-entry dance around us so happily, so warmly. They reflect my heart. I have to.
I kiss him.
In our short years we come a long way…
He stiffens in surprise, but relaxes after a moment.
It's time.
Still holding onto his arm, I suddenly spin, swinging him around me. Summoning all my strength, I spin faster and faster.
To treat it bad just to throw it away…
I let go.
He soars upward, towards the distant figure of the A.R.K.
"Shadow?!" He shouts in surprise.
I want you…
To be free…
"Go back!" I call out to him.
"Go back to Amy, Tails, Knuckles and the others!"
Don't worry…
About me…
"Let me save you, like I couldn't save her."
And just like…
The movies…
We play out…
Our last scene…
The flames surround me, my flesh is being burned right off the bone.
But I feel no pain as death approaches.
You won't cry…
I won't scream…
I am too full of joy.

A/N: Whew, I can't believe I didn't write this sooner, I think the song fits in so well! I was just listening to Alien Ant Farm while typing the next chapter for "Need for Speed" (Which is entirely unrelated to this fic, by the way.) and this idea came to mind. I know it's short, but it's my first Songfic, (AND my fist yaoi/fluff fic) so PLEASE review. I'll take praise, constructive criticism, heck even flames, just please let me know what you think. Depending on your reviews, I may write more songfics, because I REALLY enjoyed writing this.
