A/N This is a bit random. Please read it though. It's from Legolas POV and takes place in Mirkwood at a feast. Legolas father abdicated and Legolas renounced his claim on the throne, believing that he would not rule wisely for, after setting his eyes on the sea, he wished to return someday forever. Thus he believed that it would be unfair of him to rule a place that he wished to leave.

The trumpets blared and, as everyone else, I turned my attention to the Grand Entrance. The giant, oaken doors where thrown open, the intricate carvings gleaming in the light from the candelabra. The horns continued to blare, a mix of sound, sweet yet hard and silent but shivering, an echoing ghostly sound ringing silently throughout the palace. The crowd parted slightly and I was able to glimpse the figure poised at the threshold. My attention was caught first by the beautiful animal standing alongside the figure. A glowing light, almost blue, radiating from its shimmering black coat as it stood with a majestic stance that plainly stated, "I belong to no one but the one I stand by." My gaze then focused on the figure. An Elven lady, garbed in varying shades of green that shimmered and swirled as though blown by some unseen wind, stood there. Her hair, a golden mass of loose curls, flowed down her back, held back only by a circlet of twisted gold. She wore no other jewelry but she did not need to. There was a regal air about her and like the horse, her stance and walk spoke volumes about her. A great hush had descended over the Great Hall. No one uttered a word but as the figure advanced forward a wide path was cleared and one by one the elves in the room bowed to her until I realized that I was the only one standing fully upright. There was no doubt in my mind that she was indeed The Queen. As my father, the King, had abdicated (and after having renounced my claim on the thrown) this was his replacement, and as I stood, gaping at her, she turned towards me and our eyes met. If not only for a brief second but the glance enabled me to regain control of myself and I bowed low.

A/N AGAIN- There won't be anymore for a while because I have writer's block. I would love suggestions though. Although, I have to say that I'm not sure a lot of this makes sense, especially the part about Legolas and Mirkwood. I would really would love it if someone would explain if Legolas is the crown prince of Mirkwood, if he ever intended to rule, if he did end up ruling, and what's up with Arwen besides her marriage to Aragorn. I really would appreciate if someone explained, nicely. Still flames are OK too. They keep me warm.
