Yet another poem about my wonderful Folken-sama! I'm sorry if they are starting to repeat…but I REALLY love my Folken-sama! *huggles her Folken-sama* Oh, and as much as I would like to, I don't own Escaflowne or any of it's characters, not even Folken-sama. *pouts* I just love it a whole lot ^_^.
Consistent Inconsistencies
Because of love you hated,
Because of hate you loved.
A web of conflicting hopes and desires;
Joyful dreams mixed with death.
Part of life sweet; the rest of it sour.
A Destiny cursed by fickle insecurities;
How could you know which way the wind would blow?
Bearing this burden—your fall from grace—
With shame and with pride
You've faced both demons and angels,
The only one able to conquer them all.
But at what cost?
Still, redemption may never be found,
But damnation is not deserved.
So what does that leave to look forward to?
Loneliness is all you dare to look for,
And all you will dare to find.
The ashes of your past are scattered by that blowing wind,
The fire of your present convictions burns all you've been forced to leave behind,
And a smoky haze conceals your uncertain future with its dancing curls.
Even though that fire rages within you
You've chilled your heart to numb your pain.
These contradictions are hidden behind a stolid mask,
But revealed through the holes from which you must see.
This mask hides your fears from the world,
But it also hides the truth from you.
Fate laughs at your foolishness and bows to your ingenuity.
Still, it doesn't matter what you would do,
Because someone will always be left hurting.
So you've taken that awful burden upon yourself,
Hoping to save the world you love
From the fate that has taken your soul,
But someone will always be left hurting
And you just simply can't take it all away.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions,
But is it not also paved with cruel intentions?
So how does one get to heaven?
This answer is lost to you
In the loneliness of your dark rooms
As smoke rises lazily from a slowly burning candle.
To overcome destiny would be man's greatest achievement,
But what if you were destined to overcome destiny?
Would destiny really have been overcome?
What you seek to do is impossible,
And yet you've done it anyway.
But at what cost?
These contradictions fill your soul,
Threatening to spill over into the world you wish to save.
You may achieve your dreams,
But all will you will find is loneliness.
But knowing you, you'll fulfill those dreams and still find happiness.
Because somehow, all of those contradictions
Give you the power to do what no one else can.
