Here, hovering over her in their marriage bed. Here, with her shivering under him. He leaned in to kiss her, to make certain she was real.
The realization was hard to process. He hesitated. He had wanted this too long.
In his dreams he had not been afraid and he was not nervous. But in this reality, he hesitated, because her body beneath his seemed too like a dream.
Her words assured him he wasn't dreaming.
"Will, I love you."
He smiled and let himself be lost in her. Oh, how he loved her.
