ONE WEEK LATER

I figured that while I was back in town, I might as well visit my family.
As I walked into my house, I heard a familiar voice, but I just couldn't place it.
"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled.
"Oh sweetie, look who came to visit!" She said as I walked into the room. Yes, there he was, Gordo, with her. Now, I have nothing against Parker and all, but she was with.oh never mind it is too complicated.
"Oh! What a nice surprise!" I said sarcastically.
"Yes, isn't it?" Jo answered. "Anyway, Gordo and Parker were just telling me about the wedding plans. They want you to be a bride's maid! Not just any bride's maid, the maid of honor. Isn't that great. Oh yes, sweetie can I get you something to drink or anything?" Jo asked.
"Uh.. Oh yes, um.a water would be nice." I said as I looked back at Gordo and Parker.
"Lizzie, I know what you're thinking. We aren't the best of friends and all I know, but Gordo really wants you to be the maid of honor. Is that okay with you?" Parker said.
"Yes, of course, I would be honored to be your maid of honor. Now if you excuse me, I really need to take a nap. The flight was really long, so I better get some rest. The time zones are different and all. Yea, anyway, I guess I will talk to ya'll later." I said as I walked up stairs.
My gosh, what have I gotten myself into?
As I laid down on my bed in my old room I thought to myself, I am going to be a iad of honor at ex best friends wedding. How is this possible. We haven't talked since that day at my house, twelve months ago, September 20, 2002.

Lizzie drifted off to sleep dreaming about that horrible day and how it all happened.
