Disclaimer: Ain't mine! Surprise…. Stargate and it's characters etc, belong to all those folks who

actually make *money* out of them. Any original stuff in there is mine. Tho' sadly, it's unlikely to ever

bring me any cash….

Authors Notes: This is just a little something that resulted from a small discussion at work today,

which was finally resolved by the Collins English dictionary. Just goes to show you *do* learn

something new every day….

I'd also like to point out I am in *no way* having a dig at the British way of speaking with this. I'm

British myself! So there. sticks tongue out If anything, it *could* be considered a little tongue in

cheek, I suppose - but that's it….

" " - around words indicate speech and ' ' - indicates thoughts. Stars on either side of a word are there for emphasis. In case you were

wondering.

As always, thanks go to dragonlady for the beta.

Flames will be used to light Teal'c's candles. I'm thinkin' of copyrighting that….

Constructive feedback (and criticism) is however always gratefully received.

It's a little worrying when this bit turns out to be longer than the actual story itself….

~~~o0o~~~
"This is Major Samantha Carter and Doctor Daniel Jackson." Hammond said, introducing them.
The British Ambassador's eyes lit up.
"Ah, the SGC's resident geniuses!" He enthused.
"Actually…the definitive is genii." Jack said quietly.
The room went deathly silent. Sam and Daniel gawked at him in amazement. There was a long pause
as if the world was holding it's breath, then the Ambassador let out a bark of laughter and clapped
Jack on the shoulder.
"Well said Colonel, well said! I like a man who respects the English language!"
There was a discreet but collective sigh of relief from around the room. The Ambassador turned back
to the two scientists and Hammond glared viciously at Jack from behind his back.
'Don't you dare do that again!' Was the message it sent.
Jack stared back innocently, hands in pockets.
'Don't know what you mean sir…'
~~~End~~~

More Authors Notes:

According to 'The Collins Paperback English Dictionary', there are two ways to pluralise (yes, that's

also a word – I checked) 'genius'. You can use either 'geniuses' or 'genii'. 'Genii' however, *is* the

definitive. And you're right - we really *don't* have enough work to do (famous last words…).

I'm thinking of turning these little drabbles into a series…what do you think?
