Disclaimer: Ain't mine! Surprise…. Stargate and it's characters etc, belong to all those folks who
actually make *money* out of them. Any original stuff in there is mine. Tho' sadly, it's unlikely to ever
bring me any cash….
Authors Notes: This came about after reading the rest of the definitions of a genius in The Collins
English Dictionary. It just sounded like something Daniel would know to me….
Italics indicate thoughts and stars on either side of a word are there for emphasis. In case you were
wondering.
As always, thanks go to dragonlady for the beta.
Flames will be used to light Teal'c's candles. I'm thinkin' of copyrighting that….
Constructive feedback (and criticism) is however always gratefully received.
It's a little worrying when this bit turns out to be longer than the actual story itself….

"Well…since we're on the subject -" Daniel started, " - in Roman mythology 'Genius' was the guiding
spirit who attended a person from birth to death."
"Really?" The Ambassador asked.
Daniel nodded. "Uh-huh. It was also used as a Roman name of the guardian spirit of a place and in
*Arabic* myth was another name – usually plural – for a 'djinn'. Or demon."
"That's fascinating."
The Ambassador turned to talk to a widely grinning Sam.
Daniel quirked an eyebrow at Jack.
'Anything you can do…'
Jack looked at him over the Ambassador's shoulder and stuck out his tongue.
'Show-off.'
Sam choked on what she was saying.
The Ambassador turned his head and Jack hastily closed his mouth with a loud snap. Sam cleared
her throat and carried on, the Ambassador turned back.
General Hammond growled very softly.
'I'm warning you…'
Jack had the grace to look apologetic. Daniel sniggered.
Jack scowled at him.
'Your fault.'
It was Daniel's turn to look like the picture of innocence.
'Who? Me?'
~~~End~~~
More Authors Notes:
Okay, I think I've stretched this about as far as I can…but if anyone has any other words that they
would like to see me use in these drabbles, let me know! polite suggestions only please, others will
be laughed at and then ignored
