Prologue
Time - it is something that seems to slip through the hands of everybody, and yet, it is something that people hold onto tighter than anything else. It is the ultimate in equalizers and it discriminates not when concerned with birth and death. If there is any one constant in the world, it is time.
However, time is not alone in the vast void that makes up this universe that we consider our home. Time is but one facet to an endless gem; for as there can be more than one timeline there can also be more than one dimension of the same place. These dimensions are the same, in general, with only minor differences between the two. However, there are some times when dimensions are so different, people within one simply do not exist in the other. This is why time is still the only constant, but cannot stand alone without the variations within dimensional planes.
Let us, then, look at one time, but for only a moment, in a dimension far removed from others. In this time, a world was threatened by a vast being of power called Lavos. But by luck, a group of children had found a way to traverse the lines of time and change the history of their world. Certainly, their story is one to save for the stuff of legends, but it is not the only story that this world has to tell. True, Lavos was destroyed in that dimension, and it was saved from certain destruction. However, it is not the only dimension to be beset by such a problem. The same world, the same problem, but within the bounds of a different dimension. How might this world hope to live on?
Travelers in time, I am Gasper, the Guru of Time, and I say to you, this is the story of a world beset by a similar danger, with outcomes far different from its sister world. What follows is a tale of heroes spawned from unlikely people and dark hours indeed. One thing is certain, this world needs its heroes and the light of hope must not fade from it. And so, Terra shall enter into its darkest days and nights. The might which is Lavos shall fall upon it, and time shall beckon champions to traverse it and change the course of history for the better!
Gather round, and gaze through the looking glass of time, bring your eyes upon that which could have been.
