Author's Note: Ficlet for the LiveJournal everwood100 challenge. August 10's subject: reunion. This is set about thirteen or so years after the first season; the only spoiler would be my speculation on Colin's fate after the season finale. It's actually 200 words because I couldn't shave it in half.
Years Later

Amy defiantly gazed into the glass case. Instead of taking the time to study her reflection, something she'd gotten over, she focused on the gleaming trophies accompanied by the snapshots of the school teams who had brought Everwood victory. Colin beamed from everywhere, cheeks flushed, hair disheveled. God, had it really been thirteen years since he'd died in surgery? No one had been able to fully accept that their little hero had failed to return to life. Driving into Everwood for the high school reunion, she'd felt his cloying, oppressive spirit.
Amy forced her eyes away from the case, glimpsing a curly black head as she did so. She whirled around so fast the breath was sucked from her. He can't be here.
But the high school had made sure he was remembered. Who was to say his ghost wouldn't haunt his best-known spot?
The person turned; Amy's heart plummeted when she saw the narrow features and glasses. It flopped over again when she spied the tall, dark-haired young man standing beside Laynie: Ephram Brown, with a bit of stubble like his father. The sight of their clasped hands sent a painful jolt through her shaky heart.
Regret.
