Snape walked into Headmistress McGonagall's office for a spur of the moment meeting. He took his usual seat to the right of the desk and looked around the room to see who was present and who needed to come. Professor Flitwick and Professor Lupin were chatting animatedly in the corner; Professor Sprout, Professor Sinistra, and Professor Vector were sitting on the chaise lounge along the wall. Professor Binns was hovering next to Professor Trelawney who was looking very grim indeed. Snape noticed that six more of the Professors needed to come.
As the minutes passed all of them wandered in, Professors Black, Granger, and Potter bringing up the rear. Snape turned his attention to McGonagall as she barked for them all to take seats. McGonagall herself stood up and cast her eyes around the room.
"The reason for this meeting today is for four announcements. I give the floor to Professor Flitwick"
"Thank you Minerva, today I would like to tell you all that I'm retiring before the school year starts. And my assistant will be my replacement." And with this he looked at Hermione, who blushed. "I've been planning to do this for a while and I can't think of a better person to take my place. Hermione, you will do great things in this position, since you know more about charms than me. So why wouldn't you?!" Flitwick smiled.
"That's not true! I don't know more about charms than you Will." Everyone in the room gave her a 'you're lying' look. "Okay so maybe I do, but not much." She smiled.
"Now I have an announcement," McGonagall said standing up. "I too am retiring and since I had no deputy head I must choose my successor. And for this I choose..
* Snape's Thoughts *
I just know it's going to be me! I've been here pretty long and I should have been Deputy Headmaster. I should be me, if it's not. But what am I saying.of course it's going to be me!

.Professor Harry Potter to be Headmaster. And deputy head to be Professor Hermione Granger." McGonagall said with a hind of finality in her voice. Snape was dumbfounded, he wasn't Headmaster and he wasn't ever Deputy Headmaster. This was bull shit in his opinion. "The person replacing Harry as Transfiguration Professor will be Professor Black and replacing him in Care of Magical Creatures will be Professor Cassia White. And the lastly the new Flying instructor will be Madame Fay McGuire. New Professors and Headmasters will be settling into their new quarters tonight. Enjoy the rest of the day. And tonight we will have a parting dinner, one last dinner will all of us, before we leave this school in the hands of out new Headmaster, Harry Potter."
