You told me that I was different than anyone you ever knew.

You told me that you would never leave me.

But you lied.

And I believed you.

You told me that I never had to be afraid when you were around.

You told me that you would never let anyone or anything hurt me.

But you lied.

And I believed you.

But you couldn't protect me from the one thing that hurt me the most-

You.

You told you were sorry.

And I'm sorry too.

Sorry that I didn't realize who you really were-

You.

You told me that you loved me.

But you lied.

And I believed you.
