Chapter III: More Than Just Friends-
"I was one of the boys until the age of eight because that's when my mother decided that it was time for me to learn about being a queen."
I paused for a moment as the memory of the awful day when my mother blocked me from leaving the house with my brothers to play, came painfully back. I felt the returning feelings of anger and frustration towards my mother for being told that it was time for me to stop playing and become a lady.
Because my father was never there and my mother wanted me to grow up I did not have a childhood. I always hoped that I would not be like my parents to my children.
During this time in my life I wanted someone to rescue me.
I placed my hands over my eyes to try to kill and stop the tears coming from the dark memories.
Gandalf and Pippin exchanged looks of worry and regret. Gandalf placed his old, weathered right hand on my left shoulder covered by a dress of dusky rose. He gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"Should we leave?" whispered Pippin into Gandalf's ear.
"Take your time, my lady," was Gandalf's comforting words.
I moved my hands from covering my gray eyes. I moved my hands softly through my long, dark, curly, blondish brown hair. Taking a slow labored breath, in and out, to calm myself down. When I looked into the flames of the roaring fire, they could see my tear stained face. I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Sorry, but this was a very painful time in my life. Thank you.
"I'm correctly assuming, Master Hobbit, that you want me to hurry up and get to the part of our story were we see each other again."
"Aye, you are, but I do not want to get Boromir mad because he might find out that I was getting you upset by bring back painful memories."
"Who is going to tell Boromir? If you are afraid that Boromir will hurt you, he will not because he cares for you."
"I'm afraid because Boromir said that he will kill anyone that hurts anyone in his family in anyway."
"Boromir will not find out because we are not going to tell him. Like I said before he will not kill you because he cares for you. Does that make you feel any better?"
"Not that much, but please continue," Pippin said as he looked around the room worriedly for anyone that would tell their secret.
"Only if you insist, Master Hobbit."
"Aye, I do insist."
"The last time Boromir had seen me was when I was a girl of only eight summers. I had not seen Boromir since he was a boy of eleven summers.
"Isembard was now working as a squire for one of the soldier's in the army. Boromir and Isembold were now working as pages for two companies of soldiers. Faramir was waiting for his turn to join the other three. I was still becoming a queen.
"Summer faded into fall which turned into winter. Winter means the celebration of mettarë and yestarë.
"Mettarë is the biggest celebration because it is the end of the year. At sunset of each mettarë everyone goes to the grand banquet room of the Citadel. The mettarë feast is full of food, music, drink, people and fun. Mettarë celebration goes on until the early hours of yestarë.
"Yestarë is not a day of celebration, but a day to be with your family on the first day of the New Year.
"This mettarë was different than all the rest. On this mettarë was the one that we realized that we were more than just friends.
