SLY DOWN UNDER

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - 3:30 A.M.

Sly Cooper was in the Museum of Australian History about to steal the famed Emerald Wallaby when he felt a strange presence behind him. "Not so fast, raccoon!", said the stranger, a koala clad in black and pointing a gun at the raccoon.

"And who might you be?", Sly asked the Koala. "Nick McDonald, Australia's greatest crimefighter.", the koala replied. "Well, isn't that special?", Sly said, smashing open a window with his cane. The raccoon made his getaway with alarms blaring behind him.

No sooner had Sly made it to his getaway van then he was once again confronted by the koala. "H-how did you get here?", A puzzled Sly asked. "I used me jet pack.", McDonald said. Somehow, Sly had failed to notice the rocket pack strapped to the koala's back.

"Enough small talk, Cooper.", said the koala. "Now hand over the statue.", he then said. "Sorry, no can do.", Sly said, knocking the do-gooder to the ground with his cane. "Floor it, Murray!!", Sly ordered, slamming the door. "You've got it!", said his hippo friend. The van sped off.

Sly peered into the rearview mirror, and sure enough, the koala was rocketing after them. "Something's chasing us!", Bentley said. "You don't say.", said Sly. "What could it possibly be?", Veronica wondered. "It's Nick McDonald, Australia's greatest crime-fighter.", Sly said. "Who?", asked Bentley. "Just another wannabe hero, I guess.", said Sly as they raced through the streets of Sydney. "Ah, another one of those types.", his turtle friend remarked.

Nick McDonald flew up higher and then blasted right past Sly and his gang. "It appears we've lost him.", Bentley said, looking at his radar screen. "I wouldn't be so sure.", said Sly.

The koala had landed on the roof of a building several miles ahead of Sly's getaway van. "I need a roadblock at the 151 block of Pershing.", Nick said into a radio. "Sure thing, captain.", replied the voice at the other end. Almost instantaneously, a truck barreled down the road and then slowed down to turn sideways and block the street.

Moments later, Sly and his gang approached. "Holy crap!!", Murray exclaimed, slamming on the brakes just in time to avoid colliding with the truck. Just then, Nick landed alongside Sly's getaway truck. "It looks like you've got no choice but to surrender, you evildoer.", said the koala. "Evildoer?!", responded Sly. "You're the one who blocked off a major roadway. You're lucky it's so late. Someone might have been killed!", the raccoon then said.

"Enough chitchat, Cooper. Now hand over the Emerald Wallaby unless you want a taste o' me pistol.", McDonald said, sticking his handgun in the muzzle of the raccoon. Police sirens could now be heard in the distance. Suddenly, Murray turned the van around and sped off. "Nice job, Murray.", Sly said to his hippo friend. "You'll not get away with this, Sly Cooper!", Nick McDonald called out, attempting to fire up his jet pack. The jet pack at first wouldn't start, and then exploded into a ball of flames. "Bloody hell!!", screamed the koala as he removed the burning backpack. "Hey, Nick.", a voice called from the truck. "We'd better get out of here. The coppers are closin' in." Nick ran over to the truck and got in. The vehicle raced off just as the police closed in.

Sly's turtle friend Bentley was in an unusually gleeful mood. "Bentley, you genius.", he said to himself. "What's with you?", asked Veronica. "I just hacked into the computer guidance system on that idiot koala's jet pack. And.....", he said. "kA-BOOM!", the turtle then said with a laugh. "Good.", said Sly. "That guy was such a pest.", the raccoon then said. Sly then leaned back, placed his feet on the dashboard, closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep, having completed another successful heist.
