Connections
Logan stood in the doorframe and looked at the kids in the room before him. They were all trying desperately to comfort Kitty, who'd just received word that her grandmother had passed away. Logan watched the preceding with a slight tint of jealousy. Even though it was a sad time, Logan envied the fact that they all knew who their family was. Logan scanned the room.
Maybe he'd been like Jean. You know, he could have had both parents at home. Maybe he'd been lucky enough to have two parents who love each other and their children so much.
He could've been in Kitty's situation. He could be an only child. He definitely had the independence to be one.
Or he could have a larger family, like Evan. Maybe Logan had been close to his extended family. He could've had aunts and uncles and cousins that came to visit all the time.
Logan's gaze settled on Scott. Maybe he was an older brother. He could've had a younger brother or sister to be protective of or just to boss around. He smirked at that idea.
He watched Kurt appear in the middle of the room. Maybe he was the youngest, like Kurt. Logan almost laughed aloud when he thought of an older sibling trying to boss him around.
Logan looked at Rogue. Maybe he hadn't had any parents at all. He could've been abandoned or adopted. Or he could've just had one parent, like Rogue had been with Destiny.
Logan sighed as Xavier rolled up to his side, "Logan, why don't you go get a drink?"
Logan looked down at him, "Because it looks like my family needs me here." With that, he walked into the room to talk to Kitty.
The End.
