Chapter One: A Silent Depart
The sun was hidden behind a thick Vail of clouds that morning Kayda woke up, she had already packed and was pretty much ready to go, except for one thing. She didn't have her pokemon. The small town of little root was submerged in a dense fog. It was silent outside when Kayda emerged from her little old cabin, she walked along leaving a swirling mass of mist in her wake. She then reached a large structure, knocking on the door with a confident hand. The door was opened revealing a older man probably in his late forties. He smiled lightly and moved aside to let the girl in.
"its good to see you up and about this early, come for your pokemon no doubt." He said as she took off her rather damp black hoodie.
"Yup, you have one for me right." She said looking up at him after discarding her hoodie on the floor.
"Of course, now this is a pokemon who can be rather difficult at time, you'll need patience to control him, I think you two will get along great when you learn how to overcome his stubbornness." The man said leading her through a maze of hallways and rooms. Behind a fake smile Kayda was annoyed, the professor was going to give her some stuck up unwanted pokemon, which was the last thing she wanted.
Finally they entered a large room, the walls were a pale yellow and lined with bookcases, a computer sat on a desk to the left and on the right there was a table with a red and white pokeball. She walked over to it.
"Good luck with It." the man said as she picked up the pokeball, it was cold and smooth, the pokeball itself was in perfect condition, not a scratch or scrap could be found. She looked up.
"Thank you." She said rather pleased but at the same time reluctant, who knows what pokemon was in there and by the sounds of it not a very nice one.
"Oh yes you will be needing these on your journey." He said handing the girl a pokedex and a small cell phone. The pokedex was dark red as was the phone. She flipped open the pokedex, "welcome" it said in a mechanical voice. "Name?" it, asked.
"Kayda Namain."
"Age."
"15"
"Gender"
"Female."
"Thank you data saved." She flipped it closed again.
"Well good luck." The professor said when the reached the front door again, "And be careful, the road is a dangerous place." He said as their final parting words, she nodded walking out the door, making sure to grab her hoodie off the floor.
She left the town without a sound. She felt a small buzz of excitement as she reached the gates. She stopped looking up at the old wooden sign, it was half covered in moss and rotting away but you could still faintly see the words carved into it so many generations ago.
'Little Root Town.' It read, She turned around for a minute, looking back on the town, mist still shrouded most of the village there was a faint outline of a few houses closest to her. She turned and left. Once a little ways outside the town she grabbed for her Pokeball eager to meet her companion.
"Go, pokemon." She said as she through the Pokeball, it bounced of the ground, and a little red light appeared forming into the pokemon. She caught the Pokeball, rather shocked at the creature that stood before her.
"What are you staring at?"
