Death and Light
God of Death,
Unfeeling and cruel,
Meets Angel of Light,
To try and rule.
Brings His armies,
A flood of night,
To conquer the heavens,
Smother the light.
God and Angel,
Dark and Light,
Met at the center,
To finish the fight.
Slashed and broken,
The Angel fell,
His fall a ringing,
Silent bell.
From the ground,
He raised a hand,
And called a blessing,
On the Lord of the Damned.
The Lord of Death,
Opened His eyes,
And saw the ruin,
Of earth and sky.
He called off His armies,
With quiet calm,
Then gathered the Angel,
In gentle arms.
He took the Angel,
Unto His rooms,
Until he recovered,
In the Realm of the Doomed.
Released He returned,
Again and again,
Angel and Devil,
In love and sin.
The Death Lord learned,
To love another,
The Angel came,
In winter and summer.
A messenger came,
And found them together,
Called them to court,
And damned them forever.
Reduced them to humans,
On a world of hurt,
Children in a war,
Spanning the world.
They looked for a year,
Before they found,
Each other again,
As a human child.
Together again,
Day after day,
Nothing will part them,
Together they stay.
Together forever,
Until they leave,
Innocent Angel,
And Death Lord received.
Taking to them,
The burden of love,
One day they will,
Rise above.
To fly high,
In the sky,
Remembering days,
Long gone by.
Angel and Demon,
Time to go,
Rise on high,
On sunbeams flow.
They fly away,
Leave us behind,
Watching the glory,
Of wings spread wide.
Fly to the sunset,
Then fly some more,
You'll find them there,
By the waterfall.
