Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Horizon

"Bring me that horizon." – Capt. Jack Sparrow
The new black sails adorning the Black Pearl's masts were filled by the wind, as the ship raced out into the Caribbean Sea under the guidance of Captain Jack Sparrow. Ahead, the horizon beckoned.
It had taken ten years, ten long years, but finally the curse had been lifted, Barbossa defeated, and the Pearl was Jack Sparrow's again. In his hands the wood of the wheel was smooth and strong, and the ship responded with familiar movements to each turn. The blue of the sea deepened around him, its gentle waves lapping against the ship's broad hull. Port Royal had been left far behind, and was now a fading dot in the distance.
Jack listened to the soft creaks of the deck under him and rigging high above. These were the sounds of his ship, a voice he knew so well as to never have forgotten. The warm sun dried his clothes, which had been soaked through by his swim out to the Black Pearl, and the fresh salt air he drew into his lungs rejuvenated him.
Around Captain Jack Sparrow, his small but worthy crew worked hard and cheerfully. They were a crew that had been willing to bend the rules of the Code (though they were, of course, more like guidelines really) for him, their captain. He had men honest and true to him, something he hadn't had in a very long time. Jack Sparrow smiled at his thoughts. His crew was living proof that it was possible to be a pirate and a good man, or woman (he added hastily, as Anamaria walked past him). Will Turner had finally come to see this and so the lad had lost his reflexive loathing of all pirates. The boy's father had been a good man and a scallywag. Sadly, Bootstrap Bill was now at the bottom of the sea. However, it didn't always have to end that way: Jack had his beloved ship back.
All sign of land had vanished; there was nothing but blue waters shimmering in the bright Caribbean sunlight all around the Black Pearl. Captain Jack Sparrow didn't have a destination. It didn't matter where he went, that was the point: He was free.
