The young witch took a last glance at the wizard that she had trusted with her whole family' s lives. She knew he would never betray them, but there was a lingering feeling in the pit of her stomach. Shaking her head, she left the window of her home and proceeded towards her kitchen. Thoughts like those were exactly what she did not need when her family lay in the path of such peril.
As she entered the kitchen, her eyes set on those of her husband. He was sitting at the table reading the Daily Prophet. He was a young lean wizard with untidy black hair. "Any good news James?" The young witch asked, even though she new well enough that in the event of something happening in the battle against Lord Voldemort that she and her husband would be the first ones to know.
"Nothing of the sort," he replied quietly, and looked up towards his son who was happily playing with his food, without any intention of actually eating it. "I believe Harry is not very hungry this morning," he said absent-mindedly as he took the bowl of food(what was left in the bowl) and placed it on the counter.
"Scourgify," said the young witch and flicked her wand towards her son's high chair tray. The tray was instantly clean, and Harry cast an unhappy look towards his mother. "I'm sorry that I had to dispose of your artistic work Harry, but you can't be playing with your food."
Just then a familiar face appeared wrapped within the flames of the kitchen fireplace. "Arthur!" exclaimed the young witch ecstatic over seeing the face of a friend.
"Hello Lily! How have you been?" asked the bodiless head of Arthur Weasley, a close friend, of the families.
"Not bad," she replied lightly, "though it's dead boring not being able to leave the house. I'm so glad you stopped by we only just saw Sirius this morning."
"How are the children?" asked James happily.
"Their wonderful, the twins are mischievous little devils they stole Molly's wand last night and hid it in a cupboard." He chuckled softly. "and Ron said his first word, Quidditch!"
"Good Boy," exclaimed James happily, "You've got yourself a smart son there Arthur."
"And we have another one on his way!" Arthur blurted out excitedly.
"How are you going to manage another son, Arthur?"
"Molly already has all Ron's baby clothes out already, we were thinking about naming him Collin. What do you think, good name?"
"A very good name!" James answered. "You will let us know when the baby arrives won't you?"
"Oh I hope so," replied Arthur smiling, "But in times like this." His face darkened, "You never know if we will be able to contact you. The only reason I could contact you was because for a short time the ministry has gained control over the floo network. And speaking of such things I should be leaving, in case I'm being observed."
"Do say hello to Molly for me. I miss her terribly." Lily added.
"Tell everyone at in the Order that we're doing just fine here." Said James hurriedly. "You really should be leaving."
"Well, take care. I'll see you again as soon as possible. Good-bye!" there was a small 'pop' and Arthur Weasley' s face vanished from the fire.
For long moments James and Lily continued to stare at the fire, until a young Harry got impatient and began rattling his high chair. "Better clean up from breakfast then." Lily gave her wand a small flick, and the dishes began cleaning themselves.
