Summary: Elrond reflects back on Arwen's childhood on her wedding day.

Elrond paced the room in Minas Tirith. Today he would give his daughter away. His mind whirled with a thousand thoughts. He stepped to the window looking out over the stables as another memory filtered in.
He remembered the first time she had tried to ride like her brothers. It was her birthday and Glorfindel had given her a beautiful pony. She had been so happy, and that night she had wrapped her arms around his neck. A hug and a kiss and a I love you Ada, before she fell asleep.
Elrond walked away from the window. He sat down on the bed as the memory of her growing up flooded in. The day that came when she became too old for open affection.
Elrond sat lost in his own memories and did not hear the door open. Celeborn stepped in and looked down at his son in law. When Elrond still did not look up he cleared his throat. Elrond held his head down, and Celeborn came over to the bed.
"Let you heart not be troubled on this day" he said. But "Where did the years go?" Elrond asked lifting his head up.
Celeborn noticed the tears in his eyes daring to fall. "I asked myself that same question once," Celeborn said as his own memories came back. "Come it is time to go," Celeborn sighed as he ushered Elrond out the door.
As they entered the garden where Arwen stood waiting Elrond's mouth fell open. "She's so beautiful; how I wish Celebrian could have been here to see her." He tried to choke the sobs which were filling his chest.
As the last vow was spoken Arwen turned to her father. "Ada do not worry for I will always be your little girl." Elrond sobbed as he knew this would be the last time he would see her. Almost as if she could read his mind; Arwen leaned over and gave him a hug and kiss. Her mouth close to his ear she whispered "I love you Daddy." This was the memory Elrond took over the sea.
