DISCLAIMER- I don't own LotR. End of story. I honestly don't know if I own the person who is saying this poem, because it's up to you really. It can be whoever you want it to be.
This is my first poem for LotR. Please, be nice!
.:I Wish:.
And as I watch the darkness grow,
The rivers in the mud still flow,
Of blood and sweat and salty tears,
That betray all the dying's fears,
For cold sweeps down upon the weary,
Storm clouds fill the sky so dreary,
Death dances now in front of me,
I wish that I could somehow see,
The happy days now left behind,
The days when golden sun would shine,
On children laughing as they play,
And chasing all their cares away,
I wish that I could somehow hear,
My love whispering that I'm dear,
As we embrace and feel secure,
Behind the locked and bolted door,
I wish that I could somehow taste,
The sweet and sticky honey paste,
The one that Mother used to make,
To quieten children for her sake,
I wish that I could somehow smell,
The flowers in the green grass dell,
That nod their heads with gentle breeze,
And give their fruit to honey bees,
And I wish I could somehow feel,
A love so pure, a love so real,
It does not live on battle plain,
While I lay down amongst the slain,
Awaiting Death to come for me,
Whilst I now just long to be,
Safe at home in safety's arms,
Away from war and all its harms,
To pine for times now buried and dead,
The cold air hangs, heavy as lead,
As I recall my past so bright,
I slowly fade away from light,
For I may pray for such a dish,
But it is merely just a wish.
I'm not sure why, but I thought of an Elf while writing that. However, everyone has they're own opinions- I'd be glad to hear some of yours.
