A/N: This is the first poem and first X-Files fic I've ever published here,
so be kind. The title isn't exactly the pinnacle of creativity, but it was
the only thing I could come up with that seemed to fit.

The End
Forced seclusion plagues me
Like a demon in the dark.
This hell I brought upon myself
Until I did embark,
I joined you on your journey,
Fought the world with your crusade
You professed I was your touchstone,
But it was me you saved.
I see your face in all my dreams,
Your voice floats through my head.
Your touch brings wonder to my soul,
But you touch her instead.
She was your one and only,
Her feelings, you returned.
Now she has you close again,
And it's still you for whom she yearns.
Her eyes reveal desires --
-- Desires I know well.
A deep jealousy consumes me,
And drowns my private hell.
Was it me you thought of?
It was I who thought of you.
That little boy saw how I felt.
Do you even have a clue?
Moments in the past
Your embrace has kept me warm
Your strength, given me courage
But, in the end, left me forlorn.
I see a glimmer in your eyes,
I wish I could receive.
Could that flicker be for me?
I want to believe.
