"No way!"
"Yes way!"
Dawn folded her arms and glared at Xander. "You can't do it. A house of cards built with three packs? Nuh uh."
Xander grinned back at her. "Just because iyou/i can't even build a house using one pack of cards..." He paused, and arranged his face into a somber expression. "I find your lack of faith...disturbing."

It covered more than half the table at the Magic Box. It was at least a meter high. Dawn sighed and gave Xander the credit he was due. "Fine," she said. "You did it. You win the bet. I'll be the one to tell Giles why his newest arrival of candles are already melted piles of wax."
"Giles? Oh, I wasn't worried about iGiles/i." Xander slung a friendly arm over Dawn's shoulders. "Anya, now..."
Dawn buried her face in her hands. "Nice knowing you," she mumbled.

(Set sometime S3, I guess.)
Buffy walked into Gile's apartment, rubbing a bruised elbow. There was nothing funny about the funny bone. It ihurt/i.
"Giles? You here?"
He walked out of the kitchen, a tea towel in one hand and a plate in the other. "Yes, I was just..uh..cleaning up. Did the patrol go as planned?"
"Yeah, we kicked some major vampire ass. Poof, poof, poof! Vamps-be-gone."
"Yes, quite. Ah...I find your lack of Faith disturbing."
"Oh, you know her. Always with the getting hyped up, and the Bronzing. In fact, I'm heading out there myself in a minute. Just popped into tell you that all was well in the little town of Sunnydale."
With a wave and a grin she was out the door, checking her hair as she went. Giles looked after her, a worried frown on his face. He went back to drying his dishes, and tried to ignore the little part of him that remembered what it was like to be 17.

Willow stared at the book. She twisted her head one way, then the other. She turned the book upside down. She looked up at Tara, who was sitting at the end of the bed, a small grin on her face.
"This...this isn't possible."
"Of course it is. Why would they put it in the book if it wasn't?"
Willow looked again. Frowned slightly as she counted the number of limbs in the picture. Squinted slightly, then..."Oh! I...ah..." A blush rose to her cheeks as she understood the mechanics of what she was looking at. "It looks like fun...but are we flexible enough? I'm not sure I bend that way."
Tara started crawling up the bed. The grin on her face now held no little mischief. "I find you lack of faith...disturbing," she said, as she pushed Willow back on the bed, and leaned in to kiss her.
