But I believed in destiny.

He traced his fingers over the delicate flower, which bloomed innocently with hints of seductiveness hidden within the pale pink petals.
Kaede was just like this rose.
Innocent. Beautiful. Seductive.
And yet, had thorns that threatened anyone who chose to go near him.
Sendoh raked a hand through his hair, now left un-spiked, threading his fingers through the silky strands. He remembered touching his Kaede's hair like that. Only that it wasn't a random ruffle like this. It was a caress and a loving gesture. Kaede would lean into his hand like that, closing his eyes like a satisfied feline.
My Kitten.
To describe Kaede with more apt terms, he'd say that his beloved little kitten was just like an ice rose.
Cold. Unapproachable.
Delicate. Gorgeous.
The beautiful ice rose chose to bloom for him.

The ice rose coiled around his heart.
He felt the pain, and his vision turned to nothing but a sharp blur of white. Random red streaks coloured his fogged mind. His breath caught and he fell. The pain became more intense.
