Genre: Angst

And so the operation has failed. I wander in darkness without knowing what is in front of me.
Never will I really be able to see you again.
I can feel the sun's warm rays on me, but I will never see the light.
Even though I smell the flowers, I can not see them no more.
I am jeered at every single day as I walk down the once familiar streets.
I know that this is not your fault, it is that I have lost the courage. I have lost hope.
Never will I live a normal life again.
My friends come visit me often, telling me about their guy friends and boyfriends.
They tell me about rumors in school.
They pity for me.
I want not pity. I would just rather be able to see than receive the pity that others give me.
I feel as though I have put an emotional strain on those close to me.
It will never be the same.
The CEO will never know me.
The CEO will never love me.
The CEO will never know that I existed on earth.
I have often gazed at him, admiring him.
As I pass that tall blue building, I know he is in there.
You never knew that before the infection took over, that I had a desire for him. You would have gotten angry at me.
My final gift to you is a poem:
Time:
To Realize the value of a one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of a one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute:
Ask a person who has missed the train, bus, or plane.
To realized the value of a second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Time waits for no one Joey. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special. I am not that special one.
But as I give my final good-bye, I leave you this.
I have chosen this path, not because of you. I have done this because I do not wish to hurt those close to me. Don't worry about me Joey, go live your life, the way that I cannot do. My dreams have been shattered. It is not because that you came too late from Duelist Kingdom with the prize money that Yugi has so nicely given to you. It is because, that I will never be free of the envy of the people with the life that I have dreamed of. My last words to you and the CEO are, I love you. I always have, and I always will. I will watch for you in the heavens.
Love,
Serenity Wheeler
