Say It Isn't So

Say it isn't sow. Tell me it's a lie, tell me it's a joke. But please say it isn't sow. Don't look like that, don't turn away from me. Look at me and say it isn't sow.
Please tell me you're wrong. Tell me it's alright; tell me it all will be fine. Just don't say that, don't say the words.

Let me believe it's not true for a little while longer. Let me think it isn't the way you told me. Let me think it's all right. Just. A. Little. Bit .Longer...Only a little bit longer.

Please...

He's fine! See? He's fine, just asleep. Just knocked out, nothing else. He'll be fine, just fine. Don't give me those looks. I know he's fine, I know he'll wake up later and smile at me like he always does when he sees me.

He brushed some strands of hair from his lover's face.

Silk, his hair feels like the finest silk. I could spend hours playing with it, stroking it. He doesn't like it but he allows me to pet it, only me. I love his hair, the way it shimmers in the sun. The way lost strands fall in his face giving him an innocent look.

His hand touches his lover's skin and he froze before running from the room. He ignored the pitying stares the medical staff shot him as he passed them. He made his way to the hospital roof and sank on to his knees.

Cold.

Ice cold.

His koibito's skin was so inhumanly cold.

Clutching his head he curled up in to a tight ball and cried as the truth finally hit him.

"He did not survive the operation, Kazama-san. The damage to his brain was far too great to be restored. We are really sorry"

Hot burning tears splashed down his cheek as the words echoed through his mind, over and over. He was really gone then. His love, his world was gone. By a blink of an eye, one drunk driver had taken the most precious thing in his life away. Panting he rose him self a little, resting on his knee's.

Gone.

Forever.

Black wings tore from his back as he threw his head back and howled mournfully.

"Hwoooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrng!!!!"
