THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT PINK
Chapter One: A Dream Come True
Twenty five year old Kogure Kiminobu stepped out of his blue convertible and sighed. It was already nine in the evening and he had just come home from a long day at the hospital.
After graduating from college, Kogure got a job as a nurse in Kitamura General Hospital. He had applied too in a hospital in Tokyo, but they didn't need more nurses at that time – even if the one applying is the nurse who recently topped the bar exams with a perfect score. And now, three years after graduating, he was still in Kitamura. The pay wasn't high, he had to admit. But the pay was sufficient enough to pay the basic necessities in life.
Where did he get the blue convertible, you ask?
It was a gift from his rich boyfriend of eight years, Rukawa Kaede.
Rukawa had given him the car on his graduation day and he had strongly refused because it was too extravagant a gift. But the kitsune was very stubborn that Kogure didn't get to refuse the gift. He smiled at the memory. He and Rukawa had been living together for six years – exactly after Rukawa had graduated from Shohoku. And since then, he was exposed to living extravagantly since his boyfriend owned the house they were living in and practically about twenty sports shop all around Japan.
Speaking of that foxy basketball player, where is he? He should be home by now…
It was only then that Kogure noticed that no one seemed to be home.
After making sure that his car was locked in the garage, Kogure opened the door that lead to the house. No lights were open except for the ones in the kitchen which he remembered that he forgot to close before he went to work. Tired and thirsty from the one hour drive, he went to the kitchen, his mind still wondering where his Kaede could be.
But before he could place a second step in the dining room – which came before the kitchen – the lights were suddenly switched on and confetti fell on his head.
"CONGRATULATIONS!!"
Kogure blinked, adjusting his eyes to the light. Standing in front of him was Rukawa, a party hat on his head and a bunch of balloons on one hand.
"Wha-"
"YOU WERE ACCEPTED!! YOU'RE GOING TO WORK FOR JAPAN'S MOST PRESTIGOUS HOSPITAL, KIMI!!"
Kogure blinked again, this time it was a result of shock.
"Maji?"
Rukawa nodded and handed his boyfriend the letter that contained his acceptance to the hospital. He read it once, twice and thrice even, but he still couldn't believe it.
He, Kogure Kiminobu, was accepted in Japan's best hospital.
"Kaede, do you know what this means?"
Rukawa grinned widely and kissed his boyfriend.
"THIS IS A DREAM COM TRUE, KAEDE!!"
