For the Girl Who Has Everything (Or so it seems)

I will admit, I wrote this after having read the poem PhantomAria wrote with Erik, lol. Only Christine and I wrote this, it's about what it's like to be misunderstood by the man who loves you, (Erik) and the fop you've married.

Watching the rain pour over the steps

Hoping for something bad to happen

For she has everything

But she has nothing

He thinks she is happy

She's married him

And so he is happy

But she is not

Her heart is aching for another

The one thing this girl doesn't have

The one thing this girl was denied

By her own heart

She steps harshly into the puddle

Perhaps if she is hurt he will come

And take her back

into the darkness she had grown to love

That darkness which had taken her soul

And caused her to change from naive

To sensible

All with the sound of his voice

He also thinks she has everything

He, the one who loves her

He who had taken her into the darkness

He who had taken her heart and kept it safe

He believes with Raoul lies her happiness

But there is a difference between happiness and well being

For that is all she has now

A good life and noble husband

She takes the mail from her servant

And stares at the elegant script addressing her

She opens it and reads,

'For the girl who has everything'
