Memory

A poem from Raoul's POV, what he would tell Erik about that fateful night

Darkness

Eternal misery along a path concealed next to a vast glassy lake

The quiet trickling of water was discernable through the mobs cries

And so was her voice

Little Lotte

Singing to you, of what I thought love

and what you thought fear

But we are all afraid when we're are in love

And perhaps that is what you do not understand.

Pain

I thought having your lasso around my neck was painful

But the sweetest and most exotic pain

Was watching her kiss you

And I wondered how you must have hurt

Whenever you witnessed us kiss

Or even just profess love

Such a simple

Yet powerful gesture

Love

I could see it in your eyes as you set her hand in mine

And I felt in my heart the entire time before and after that instant

I did love her

I do love her

But I know deep down she loves you just as much as you her

And though I fight it every day

For she is my wife

I know it is true

Memory

I live with this forever

And I find my heart beating

Whenever I recall it

I know you live with similar memories

And though you are my rival

And I hate you with passion

I wish you the best
