It was three in the morning, but Yugi was still awake. He couldn't sleep, and school was just a few hours away. He decided to wake up Yami; not a wise thing to do.

"Yami, Yami!" Yugi whispered. He shoved the lifeless body gently, but the 5,000-year-old pharaoh just wouldn't wake up. "YAMI!!"

"WHAT?!" Yami sat up; hair messed up a little. His eyes were bloodshot, although Yugi couldn't tell why. His breathing returned to normal, and closed his eyes for a minute.

"Yami, I can't sleep. Would you come with me for a second?" Yugi sighed.

"What? Where?"

"I want to show you something." Yugi took his half's hand, and led him to the back door.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Yugi stepped onto the dark patio, waiting for Yami to join him. The air was cool, and the sky was that bluish tint when it was halfway before dawn but just after nightfall. The crickets were chirping softly, and the night was still. It gave the two beings a feeling of contentment, the feeling that only they were awake, and that only they could experience this tranquil world.

"Yugi, why have you shown me this?" Yugi's aibou asked.

"Because, Yami...I love you." the innocent boy looked up to the pharaoh's eyes; searching for something.

"But why?"

"Yami, you are there for me...always. And I want to return the favor. I want to be there for you, to protect you."

Yami stared at the boy.

"This is a symbol, of how I feel for you. I just want to know," at this Yugi paused, "do you feel the same?"

Yami looked up to the rising sun.

"I do. And I want you to know."
