"Trust." It was a simple word. It was a word that had also shattered my life.
Or so it seemed. It had, at least, shattered any affection or respect I held
for the woman in front of me. For far too long I had tried to make myself
believe that she and Endymion had not loved one another. That she had not
held any affection for my soul mate. I was wrong.
"I do not trust you anymore, Sailor Pluto. You have broken whatever trust I
had in you," I replied to her one word. She could not look me in the eyes.
"If it is wrong to love someone so much, than I am guilty of my sins, for all
I did was love him," she replied, turning frozen eyes upon my face.
"BUT YOU KNEW WE WERE TO BE TOGETHER!" I screamed at her. She did not once
flinch. "You knew I loved him! You, Guardian of Time, you knew we were
destined, we were soul mates! And yet, you still dared to love one that was
taken! And in my stupidity, knowing full well you loved him, still trusted
your judgment!" I ranted, pacing around the corridor of the Gates of Time.
"Gomen Nasai, Princess Serenity," she replied. I looked at her through my
tears.
"You already had your soul mate, your love, but you didn't stop there, did you!
You had to fall in love with Endymion as well. What about your soul mate Setsuna?
What would he think if he knew you betrayed him as well?" I asked, thinking of the
long time friend of mine who had yet to arrive. He was a gentle as a teddy bear,
and I knew this would crush him, or so I thought.
"He knew then, as he knows now," she spoke in a flat voice. I stared at her in
shock. "He accepted the fact that what happened was supposed to. He also knew
that nothing would come of it other than my heart breaking, you getting hurt,
Endymion suffering, and my heart finally returning to him, as it was meant to all
along.
"I'm surprised he still loves you, and I am surprised that I have not been harsher
with you," I said as I sat down in a chair that had been provided for me at the
beginning of our conversation.
"I am not the only one to have betrayed you as you so elegantly stated," she said
as she turned from me.
"Of course you aren't. I knew all along about Raye too! But there is some
difference to your situation and Raye's. Where you had known for a long time
what was to happen, Raye was just discovering her love for Endymion and Jedite.
She didn't know she and Jedite were destined, she hadn't learned to use her
powers in such a way, as she has since then."
"I do not know what you wish for me to say. It was foretold this would happen.
Your mother and I both knew it would."
"And that's what hurts the most. Setsuna, I have known you for a long time," I
paused, thinking of how to say this. "I will try to put the past behind me, but
it will not be easy. Give me time, Time Guardian, to get past my hurt. You must
also know you must once again gain my trust." She nodded.
"I understand,"
"Good. Let no one know of this conversation. I won't bring it up and I don't want
you to either, do you understand me Setsuna?" I asked, my anger receding. She
shook her head. "Then I will see you at the bridal shop tomorrow." With that said,
I turned and left the corridor and returned to the temple.
"Gomen Nasai, Princess."
