A/N: This was written shortly after I discovered that somebody important in my life had died. Everything here actually happened cept I still didn't cry...
And Then He Cried
He had known General Hammond for a long time. Had was the key word here. He didn't know when the funeral was, he'd have to ask Daniel. Daniel would know. What did one where to a funeral? He had no idea... Jack usually wore his dress uniform, but all Jonas had was the BDUs and a few civvy clothing.
A thick pain entered his stomach and he heaved a deep breath. He didn't cry when he found out, but he wanted to. He wanted to cry so bad, but the tears wouldn't come. He wondered if anybody would think that he didn't care if he didn't cry.
Jack didn't cry, but the emotion was visible in his eyes and initial facial expression. Daniel hugged Jack, who was crying and Sam cried with Jacob Carter.
Jonas had held an unease since he woke up that morning. The day had gone really well. Everybody was nice to him for a change, nobody called him a freak and Daniel even brought him over to hangout at Jack's apartment for a while.
He and Daniel had just arrived back at the SGC when Janet relayed the news.
The worst thing in the world about it was that, the first day that Hammond had called in sick, Jonas had the same feeling of unease and wanted to go visit the General.
Jack had flatly declined, saying that Jonas could see Hammond when the General returned. And now Jonas would never see him again. There are so many things that Jonas wanted to say to Hammond. To thank him for making him feel so accepted in the SGC. To thank him for letting Jonas stay on the team even after Daniel returned from the dead.
"And now..." Jonas muttered to himself, "I'll never see him alive again. Ever."
And then he cried.
