AWAKENING
It was a bright and sunny day on the plateau.In the treehouse of Veronica everybody was wide
awake, except Roxton and Marguerite.They were sleeping in Marguerite's room.
The hunter and the heiress slept together since the memorable cave in.But they hid it from the others, because they were afraid of the opinion of their friends.
In the main room Challanger was counting with the datas one of his experiment's.Malone was writing something very-very important, and Veronica-after making breakfast-was very angry, because of the two sleepyheads.If there was something that she hated, it was to be late.
"From Marguerite I don't expect other, but from Roxton.."-she fumed.
"But Roxton had dig up the garden yesterday and then he made maintance of the electric fence till 22:00.He is certainly very tired."-Malone tried protect Roxton from Veronica's anger.
"You're right, but than Marguerite!She didn't do anything the whole yesterday!"-Veronica must work off her temper on somebody.And Marguerite was ideal for this exercise.As always..."I'll wake Her Majesty."-She decided.
She stormed to the door of the other woman,she went in without knocking,then she turned into a saltidol,because of the spectacle.Marguerite was peacefully sleeping in the arms of Roxton.There was no doubt, that they were naked.She got her hands to her mouth with a little scream.The jungle beauty turned on her heels and ran to the common room.She was red like a tomato.
Roxton woke up because of the scream,Marguerite woke up because Roxton woke up.
"What is it?" she asked sleepily.
"Veronica....I think she wanted to wake up you."
"She managed it"She said sarcastically.Then a little bit more vigilantly:"What!We are caught!"
"Yes,it fairly seems to me."smiled Roxton and gave her a little kiss.
"But.."
"I don't care what the others say."
Meanwhile in the common room:
Challanger and Malone glanced up surprised, when Veronica stormed in.
"What happened?Marguerite had said anything?"asked Malone protectivley.
"No...no..."Veronica didn't find the worlds."Marg...Roxton....they...."
The men were afraid because the stammer of Veronica, and they went to Marguerite's room.They saw a less naked Roxton and Marguerite,but the situation was unambiquous.Ned and the professor trampleds down each others heel to go out the room.
"How will we survive this day?"said roxton:
"Could this day get any better?!"muttered Marguerite.
