A sixteen-year-old Madison drove down the street looking at the footage she
got of Li and Meilin defeating the twin card six years ago when she noticed
Li walking down the street in the rain looking miserable.
"Stop James. I want to pick up a friend," said Madison.
The driver pulled over and Madison wound down the window.
'"Hey Li want a lift?" asked Madison.
Li looked up and nodded silently.
Madison opened the door and Li climbed into the car next to her.
"Nice action with the twin Card." smiled Madison as the driver pulled away from the curb and carried on toward school.
"Yeah." said Li shaking the rain from his hair.
"You OK?" asked Madison putting her video camera in her bag.
"Yeah I'm fine," said Li putting his bag into the foot well.
Madison frowned slightly as the driver pulled up outside the school.
Li jumped out the car and ran straight into the school building.
Madison paused before following him. It had seemed too awkward between the two of them recently.
He hardly talked to her, like he did with Sakura.
Madison stopped in the foyer and changed her shoes before walking further into the school.
She caught Sakura outside her locker.
"You noticed Li's strange behaviour lately?" asked Madison putting her bag in her locker for a moment as she squeezed the rain out of her hair.
"Not really. He seems fine around me," said Sakura watching Kero who spent every school day in Madison's locker, flicking through clow cards.
"Maybe it's just me then." sighed Madison picking up her bag and closing her locker. "Maybe." said Sakura as the two walked to class.
Li watched as they walked to the classroom and then went to Madison's locker and opened it. He knew the combination since he often had to check on Kero at break times.
"Want to tell me why you're acting so strange around Madison?" asked Kero who was sitting on a soda can.
"I feel like something's changed between us," said Li.
"And you don't know how to react right?" asked Kero.
"Pretty much." sighed Li.
"Ever thought that's it not her but you." suggested Kero.
"What sort of advice is that?" asked Li.
"Good advice. Shame I have to waste on you." grinned Kero.
Li narrowed his eyes at the creature.
"Do you get butterflies in your stomach when you're near her?" asked Kero.
"Err yeah, kind of." said Li.
"You long to kiss her when your around her?" asked Kero.
"Yeah a lot." said Li.
"You obviously have a thing for her," said Kero.
"I guess I do," said Li.
"Tell her." said Kero.
"But what if..." protested Li.
"Just tell her before she goes into class." said kero.
Li shut the locker and saw Madison waiting for him outside his own locker. "Li we need to talk," said Madison as Li opened his locker and pulled out his books.
"Yeah we do." said Li cradling his books in his arm before shutting the locker door.
"I just want to know why your acting so strange around me these past days. It always feels awkward when we're together with out Sakura and I want to know why." said Madison.
"OK. That makes my part easier," muttered Li.
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Madison.
"Listen Madison, I like you and Sakura allot. But recently my main focus has been on you." said Li.
"Why?" asked Madison.
"Madison you are so beautiful, I really like you," said Li.
"Really?" asked Madison
"Yes, really." smiled Li.
"I never knew that before Li." said Madison.
The bell rang for class and the two walked into the classroom.
