Ha! My first Spirited Away fic, and probably my last cause I've
been dragged, kicking and screaming, into a new, or old depending on how you
look at it, obsession. But I hope you enjoy even with that factor. Check out my
friend Theoretically Metephorical. Her works awesome!
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Spirited Away, however if anyone wants to take away my well watched movieā¦. YOU'LL HAVE TO PRY IT OUT OF MY COLD DEAD FINGERS! No suing!
The Wind
By Wyltk
My eyes opened and with a moan I raised a hand to my long hair, brushing it across my pillow content, now that I was on the cooler portion, that I would sleep. Again the wind from my open window blew over me pushing my hair over my face insistently. I let out a frustrated puff of air before I slowly pushed the covers over my legs and stood.
I moved my long white gown swirling around me as I went to my window and looked out. The wind tugged at my gown and hair tempting me to leave the safe haven of my room and to follow it. I turned my face away as it became more insistent.
The wind had always seemed to talk to me. Warnings, whispers, comforts, guiding me along, and now my only guess was that the wind was mad I was leaving it, to go to America. But I had to go. Even the three miles that separated the spirit well and I wasn't enough. I had promised never to look back, and now to stop myself I had to go farther forward.
My hair started to tangle and finally I decided to heed the wind one last time. I turned, not bothering with slippers or a robe and slowly I moved down from my two story window. It was hard work and the tree I was using tugged at my hair and clothing but eventually I made it to the ground.
I walked forward slowly at first but the wind became more forceful tugging at me until I had to run trusting the wind to take things out of my path. And it did, as it always seemed to help me. My dragon scale bracelet sparkled in the moonlight and I fingered it as I ran. The wind had helped me with it to. It had been in the car, on the way to our new home when I found the scale tangled in my hair. I had untangled it and kept it close, finally deciding to sew it into the hair band I had been maid. Since then I had worn it around my wrist, as a reminder.
The wind stopped tugging and I immediately stopped as it pushed against me keeping me in place. I looked around and closed my eyes immediately clenching my eyes shut as I felt the dragon scale grow warm against my skin as it neared its true owner. I sat down drawing my knees up to me as I leaned against the old spirit stone.
"How could you bring me here old friend? After all I've done to not look back."
A small plop sounded beside me and I shifted my head to look away from the tunnel taking in the small crown of Holly lying next to me. I held out a hand tracing the crown before picking it up and holding it close.
"Chihiro, it's been so long."
AN: Hope you enjoyed!
