A/N: Kinda along the same lines as At Summer's End, a short OC fic I'm writing, accept that this is a song. I thought it fit them so well. Lyrics are All You Wanted by Michelle Branch.

"Meeting you, and seeing what you are like, has made me want to be different. It's made me want to be better."

I wanted to be like you

I wanted everything

So I tried to be like you

And I got swept away

"It did?" He asked surprised.

"Yeah, I mean you're real. I wish I was. I'm just as phony as the rest of these people." She replied. Ryan looked at her and moved a step closer making them very close. He reached up and touched her face, tracing its shape. She nuzzled her cheek to his hand and closed her eyes.

"If you weren't real, could I do that?"

I'm sinking slowly

So hurry, hold me

Your hand is all I have

To keep me hanging on

She fluttered her eyes open and looked at him. He stroked her face gently and wrapped his arm around her waist. How long had she waited to feel his touch?

"Or this", he added leaning in close to her face. She felt his breath on her face. He took her other hand with his, and lingered there for a moment. His lips touched hers and she instantly felt warm. She let go of his hand and hooked her arms around his neck. His kisses were soft, and passionate. They had both wanted this for as long as they'd known each other.

If you want to

I can save you

I can take you away

From here

So lonely inside

So busy out there

His kiss was different than Luke's. Luke's had always been stagnant, and detached, like he didn't care. This was different; it was electric and full of meaning.

And all you wanted

Was somebody who cares

They both pulled back, and he touched her face again.

"You've always been different, Marissa. If you weren't do you think I'd bother? You don't have to be alone anymore. We can be real together."

She smiled and so did he. His smile was not just a small one, it was a genuine smile. He felt different than he'd ever felt before. He'd never really known love, or anything like it. Somehow he thought this was it.
