A/N: Once again, not my usual genre. Just a random piece spinning off from some dialogue I had floating in my head - once again supposed to be post-series. Once again, I haven't seen series 7!
"There is a tomorrow, because of you,"
Tomorrow. Indeed.
Earlier in the day, I hadn't been sure if we would see that. I've seen off the end of the world before, of course, but the fear of it is still real. What if this time the game really is up? What then?
But here we are. I, and the world, have a future. My town, 6 years of my life, the graves of my mother and many friends, my friends families, have gone. But there will be a tomorrow. The sun will shine again, and most of America will get up and go to work like it's just another day.
Of course, not everyone made it. There are always casulties, too many casualties. Those who died tonight sacrificed themselves so we would live. I don't want to let them down.
The sun will rise, as it has countless times before, and it will be tomorrow. A tomorrow without dread, without fear, without responsibility. A tomorrow where the world isn't going to end and I'm not the only one. A strange tomorrow. A strange life.
Tomorrow. Indeed.
