Authors Note: Just some fun, easy, Sirius/Lily. Both are in their sixth year for this one. I quite like it even if Lily is rather out of character. It still rocks. There isn't enough Sirius/Lily out there. Lovin' it. It's set out on the Quidditch Pitch.

"We can't," Sirius said finally, pushing away from her. "James. We can't."
"I have no loyalties to James," she says coolly. "He is not my beau and I am not his belle. And I never will be either. But us--but us, Black. We may have something. Something real."
He looks at her and blinks slightly, "you're lovely, Lily. Absolutely lovely. But--"
"--but what?" She asks.
"But one day, James shall have you, and I'll harbour guilty feelings for always."
She glares at him, her emerald green eyes glittering. He rakes a hand through his shaggy, ebony hair and glares back.
"James shall never have me," she says firmly and shakes her head like a child. "Never ever."
"So they say," Sirius chuckles dryly.
"Aren't I pretty enough?" She smiles, tempting him.
"You're way pretty enough," he says. "Don't look at me like that, Lily-" she's batting her eyelashes.
He's supposed to kiss her now.
"I don't know," she says. "I just know that no loyalties have been established thus far."
"I have loyalties!" Sirius yells incredulously. "I have loyalties!"
"He is your friend," she nods, "and he is only your friend if he wants you to be happy."
"And plus-" Sirius says "-it's late. And it's cold out here. And I just want to leave. This was an awful idea, Lily. And it isn't your fault, look, sweetheart, I'm not mad at you. But we really ought to get inside. Now." And he points to the looming Castle.
"Have you no loyalties to me?" She asks.
"I have many a loyalty to you, my little Lily. But this-" he points to his lips and then touches her chapped ones "-this is not so much loyalty."
"Oh it isn't?" She asks coldly. She twists a finger around her scarlet locks.
"No," he says, "not so much."
"I don't see why we can't-" she begins.
"Hush," he says, "you aren't being Lily. Not at all! Just stop already. Just stop it and I'll never tell James."
"Yes you will," she says, "he is your best friend."
"I won't," he says stonily, "just stop, okay?"
"Four years, Black," she says, "four years I've liked you. And I...I thought you liked me as well. But--but I guess you flirt like that with every girl."
"Oh Lily," he says, and opens his arms. She does not hug him. But stands rooted.
She stands in silence.
He looks pleadingly at her and mutters darkly, "bloody girls."
Then she walks over to him and they hug. And the hug lingers, as he places his arms protectively around her and she sniffs into his shoulder.
"Right," he says with a swift nod, "right my little Lily. Now, it's late and we ought to go."
"Go?" She asks.
"Yes," he says. "It's long past twelve."
She looks at the sky and points to the glittering stars, "It's really pretty, isn't it?"
"Yeah," he wrinkles his nose, "yeah it is."
"I wish we could stay like this forever," she says hopefully.
"I know, Lily. I know."
"But we'll always be friends. Good friends," he affirms.
"But not as good as you and James, huh?" She says.
"No," he shakes his head, "not as good as James and I."
"You're too honest," she says.
"Oh well," he says caustically as he grins at her. She grins back.
"But...Black, will I always be your little Lily? Even when I go with James?" She asks innocently.
He can't help but smile.
"Always my little Lily. Always."
"Always is a long time," she nods.
"Never too long, dearest."
