Summary : This little poem came to me on Sunday as I saw the sun go down. I'd been talking to my friend about episodes of tv shows and also movies that made us cry, my mind wandered to the BtVS epsiode Chosen and this is what emerged...
Sunset
As is the way, the sun does set and the moon does surely rise
The silver stars they twinkle with the mischeif of your eyes
The cool breeze is the feeling of your lips against my skin
The morning light can't burn away the memory of our sin
What we shared was lust not love, damaging and impure
You were the darkness I felt inside, my sickness and my cure
And finally when I felt the love, you claimed to not believe
But still my soul it stayed with you, as my body turned to leave
I wonder if I should have stayed, until the end of ends
To become one with light and hope, with my lover and my friend
Now standing here, a moonlit night, it holds no charms for me
Painful memories fall from the sky, your face I clearly see
We missed our chance, I missed our chance, it is a crying shame
The weeping willow cries for us, as I whisper your name
Are you watching me, my darling one, and do you see me here?
Wish that you could hold me now and wipe away my tears
The night will pass, the day will come, but there's no way to forget
Your memory will haunt again, as I watch the gold sun set
~The End~
