The Council.

Surrounded by men I've not seen before,
As I get to the front, I feel scared and unsure.
I sigh with relief as I place the ring down,
And I notice how the others stare at it and frown,
As if drawn to the power of the ring,
Knowing the destruction it can bring.
A tall, gallant man named Boromir,
Wants the ring for himself, I fear.
He wants the ring to go to Gondor,
Instead of being destroyed in Mordor.
But Strider, who I discovered is to be King,
Says that we ourselves cannot use the ring.
Over who should take the ring, there followed a debate,
While deep down inside, I knew it was my fate,
As Gimli says, "Never trust an Elf!"
Not being able to stop myself,
I say, "I will take the ring to Mordor,
Though, the way to take, I am not sure."
Gandalf says that he will help me there,
And will help me with this burden bear.
Strider says he will help me also,
And Legolas will protect me with his bow.
Gimli and Boromir say they will come as well,
"You're not going without me!" I hear Sam yell.
Suddenly, I see Merry and Pippin running,
Saying that they are also coming.
"You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring," I hear Elrond say,
And I know that I have an important role to play.
But I find that I cannot help but laugh,
When, "Where are we going?" I hear Pippin ask.
