(A/N:) This is my poem about Lothlorien and the tree-elves (Galadhrim). Read, and tell me what you think please! ^.^ I've never had any poetry classes or anything so... yea... I just feel poetic every now and then! I know it's not as great as Galadriel's Song or anything, but, eh, it'll have to do!
An Ode the the Galadhrim
By: Hannah
O Lothlorien, both fair and gold!
Containing beauty no jewel could hold;
What splendour in the mallorn trees,
With gold and green and silver leaves!
And in those trees the elves do dwell,
For trees and forests the elves know well.
The mysterious elves they are so fair;
Both gold and lovely is their hair!
And over their shoulders are bow and quiver,
As they travel alongside the Nimrodel River.
They love the wood with all their heart,
And from fair Lorien they wish not to part,
But as the fell shadow progesses west,
To leave their homeland they think is best.
For they wish to be gone when comes the dread day,
To be safe in the Havens so far away.
It will be a sad day when they leave the Golden Wood,
For they have cared for the forest as know mortal ever could.
For their departure, Middle-earth shall mourn,
Regretting the passing of the Immortal, the First-born.
But as long as remaineth rock, river, and tree,
Forever the memory of the elves shall be!
