Author's Note:

I would like to thank everyone for their support and replies. This is the first fanfiction I have ever posted on this site. At first I was afraid to, seeing all the flames and backlashes people can get. Setting my fears aside, I did post it and the warmth and welcome surpassed my expectations. Thank you for all of your comments, suggestion, and new chapter pleas! It was a great story to write.

However, I must sadly say that for the time being, I am not going to write a sequel. School, family, friends, and the works of real life are now severely limiting my writing time. I would rather wait and write a good story then quickly churn out a bad one.

Thanks again! Jaded

note to KrissXed-

Yes, I did write that line. It was one from a poem I had written. I am glad you liked it! I liked it so much when I wrote it that I decided to steal it from myself and put it into the story. hehe

As to the end not working for you, I am sorry you feel that way. I am even sorrier that trashy, poorly written Jack/Elizabeth plot lines have tainted your expectations. I had planned the pregnancy from the start, and it worried me to read so many of those stories where Elizabeth got knocked up and Jack came back, shocked but happy. That, in part, is why I did not put the pregnancy as the focus of the epilogue- the focus was Jack returning, not Jack learning about his child. In fact, he doesn't. Which leads one to imagine their own ending at this point.

There is only so much one can do with fictional characters that have been introduced in only one film. Their personalities, characteristics, and behavior lead them to fall into certain plotlines that work. I was not going to plan a Star Wars-esque "Luke, I am your father" sort of surprise ending. It just would not work for their characters, seeing as we know so little on Jack's background, Elizabeth's feelings, and Will's internal conflict of pirate vs. blacksmith. I did not want to write an epilogue that would be extremely unbelievable and out of place. As with most romances, a baby is a twist in the road that is usually inevitable.

I hope that helps, and once again, I am sorry you disagreed with it. But that is how it was written and I feel no shame for it.
