A/N: Just a strange little ficlet that came to me while riding my bike. It was supposed to be funny but it turned out kinda different. I don't own any of the characters mentioned in here. That's all. Please leave a review to let me know what you think.

I was five when I got my first bicycle. I didn't know what it was then but I loved it on first sight.

My mother's latest boyfriend had brought two with him; one for me, one for Regulus. But Regulus hated them; he couldn't stay on long enough to get it moving. I adored it; my mum practically had to drag me off it when it was time to eat or sleep or whatever.

When he brought a bigger one for me I was ecstatic. I started school about then and everyday I rode my bike to and from school, locking it up like a mother tucking in her child.

The summer after my third year at Hogwarts her newest boyfriend arrived on his motorcycle. I was instantly obsessed. I wore down at my mum all summer until, finally, the day before I left for my fourth year she relented. It was pure bliss. The buzz as I zipped through the streets near Grimmauld Place is a feeling I'll never forget, even when I'm old and gray.

When my mum got me a motorcycle as a graduation present it was the happiest day of my life. I took the greatest care with it, I enchanted it so it could fly, I put Unbreakable charms on it, and polished it in every spare moment. Prongs and Moony, laughed at me but I didn't care. I was in love.

That fateful October night I was waxing it when I got the strangest feeling. I had the strongest sense that James was in trouble. Foolishly I ignored it. I finished with my bike and flew to Godric's Hollow.

The house where my best friend had lived was in ruins. When I saw Hagrid I shot toward him. I asked for Harry but Hagrid was adamant. Harry was going to Surrey to live with his Aunt and Uncle.

I looked at my motorcycle, gleaming in the moonlight, and I knew I had to get rid of it. Every time I saw it after this I would be reminded of my obsession; the obsession that had cost my friend's life.

I gave my bike to Hagrid. I didn't need it anymore, didn't want it. I watched him fly away with it and then turned my back on the ruins of my former life and started to walk slowly toward my new one.
